Cellulaze in Austin Texas
Thanks for your question. You should seek consultation with a surgeon Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery for your Cellulaze treatment. Just as it wouldn't be advisable for a plastic surgeon to delivery your baby or do your hysterectomy, it's not advisable for your ObGyn to perform your Cellulaze treatment. Their training does not include aesthetic surgery and they attend "weekend courses" in an attempt to learn these procedures. The judgement and skill necessary to carry out successful aesthetic surgery cannot be learned in a weekend. Cellulaze is a very safe and successful procedure IF performed by a properly trained plastic surgeon. If done improperly, you can suffer burns, contour irregularities and other issues that are sometimes impossible to correct.

The most appropriate doctor to perform a cosmetic procedure like Cellulaze is one Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. They undergo extensive training in both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery just to take the plastic surgery board exam as well as to maintain certification they have to continue with educational courses in plastic surgery. That level of training isn't required of doctors in other specialties. Cellulaze is a new technology that requires knowledge and skill. You should have it done by the most qualified surgeon. Good luck.

Surgeon for Cellulaze
For a procedure like Cellulaze, you'd be best served by seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Plastic Surgeons specialize in facial and body contouring and perform procedures like Cellulaze regularly. The specialty of an OB/GYN is gynecologic care and delivering babies. Surgery of any kind should not be taken lightly. Choose the best, most qualified surgeon for the procedure, regardless of distance. It's worth the extra effort to have the results you desire the first time around.

Please visit with a board certified plastic surgeon who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Cellulaze, like any surgical procedure, although minimally invasive, requires a thorough understanding of the technology. And experience matters. A plastic surgeon is the best person to provide you this care. OB/GYNs are good at delivering babies and gynecologic care. But their core training is not in plastic surgery. Would you have your pediatrician perform a plastic surgery procedure? Your dentist deliver a baby? We have specialities recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialities (ABMS) for a reason. Remember, safety first. Best wishes,

Finding a Cellulaze Doctor
Before you go in for a consultation with a physician, make sure you do your research on cellulite laser treatments. Ask them about their certifications and qualifications to perform Cellulaze treatments and how many Cellulaze procedures they have done. Ask to see photos of other patients' results and to talk to other patients they have treated with Cellulaze. For a list of physicians qualified to perform Cellulaze in your area, go to the Cellulaze website. They have a physician locator that will assist you.
Which CELLULAZE doctor to use
Go on CELLULAZE>com with your zip code or call them. In my opinion the learning curve is very high so the decision is yours as to travel to a boarded PS or use the local doc. In a 3 minute search In North Atlanta is a Plastic Surgeon doing CELLULAZE. Best of luck. Regards
Choosing a Cellulaze Physician
Choosing a provider for any surgical procedure, including Cellulaze, is the most important decision you can make regarding safety and result. I don't know the OB/GYN physician you have mentioned, but when you are looking for cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery, I think it might be the most prudent to choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with extensive experience in body contouring in order to ensure the best result. I certainly wouldn't be the best person to deliver your baby, for that you would need a board certified OB/GYN for your own safety and that of your baby. I hope this helps.
Who can perform the Cellulaze procedure
The cellulaze procedure is only available to board-certified surgeons that have a proven track record with laser liposuction and liposuction in general. The manufacturer of the machine, Cynosure, wants to ensure that only qualified surgeons use the system, so that excellent results can be obtained. Be assured that doctors that have no experience, or reason to perform a cosmetic procedure are not allowed to use the Cellulaze laser system.
Cellulaze is the only FDA approved one time minimally invasive treatment for cellulite. It treats cellulite by utilizing a side-firing laser to remove hills, reorient the fibrous layer that causes the dimples, and finally stimulating collage synthesis to contract and smooth the skin.
Generally, Cellulaze is performed by board-certified plastic surgeons. However, exceptions are made for surgeons that have vast experience with laser liposuction (SmartLipo). Therefore, any physician that has Cellulaze has been well screened prior to being allowed to use the equipment. However, you should only seek treatment by a surgeon that you feel comfortable with. Good luck!
