Could Sutures Left in Chin Cause Infection?

4 months ago, I split my chin open and it was closed with blue colored sutures. The doctor accidentally left some sutures in after removal. About a week or two later, I pulled a blue piece out of my chin and a few days later I found a suture knot that was clear and removed it myself (I don't know if this was a dissolvable suture or if any were put in). I am paranoid about more pieces left in my chin. Am I in the clear since there have been no signs of infection after 4 months?
