Allergic to Dissolvable Threads?

If I was given dissolvable thread during an emergency appendectomy and now my primary doctor says that was the wrong stuff for them to use because I am now having deep sharp pains. Should I sue? Is it possible that I am allergic to the dissolvable thread?
