I have discoid lupus and want to know if cosmetic surgery is an option? I would like to have something done about facial scarring caused by discoid lupus and don't know what my options are.

It is important to control discoid lupus first, before attempting to improve any scarring. if the disease is still active, then scar procedures may make matters worse. Once the disease is dormant, then dermabrasion or chemical peeling may improve the scarring somewhat. Some lasers may activate discoid lupus.
