What are the differences between the traditional CO2 laser (e.g. Derma K) and the Fractional CO2 lasers (Total FX)? If I get severe acne scar, should I try the traditional ones? Thanks a lot.

Traditional CO2 lasers go deeper, but this may result in more side effects
Traditional CO2 lasers go deeper, but this may result in more side effects. Fractional CO2 or non-ablative lasers are popular because they have less risk. Because they are gentler, however, they are not as effective in some cases.

Asian skin does better with Fractional
I do not recommend regular CO2 on Asian skin. Fractional has been a big plus for Asian skin. We see less pigment change and yet, very nice results. Fractional non-ablative also works well on Asian skin with acne scars.
