Difference Between DO and MD Plastic Surgeons?

Dear Doctors,

Can you explain the difference between a D.O. & an M.D.? Amount of schooling, training, how long do they attend school to get their diplomas?

How do they get certified in Plastic surgery? Just trying to understand. Thanks.

MD and the DO training process.

A DO stands for Doctor of Osteopathy. They attend Osteopathic Colleges and graduate wtih a DO degree. An MD stands for Medical Doctor. They attend Medical School and graduate with a MD degree. There is some controversy in discussing other aspects of the differences between the two disciplines and their fundamental beliefs in the disease process.
