Getting a BBL done, is it ok to go home later that day or the next day & have your hometown doctor see you for your follow up?

Your surgeon should be in direct communication with you to manage you after surgery.  I
would search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel is
most likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds of
these procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well as

I hardly doubt that you will find a hometown physician willing to undertake the responsibility of a follow up on a cosmetic surgical procedure that was performed elsewhere. What if there is a complication post-op? Is it fair for your hometown doctor to take on this liability? I hardly think so. Stay the required amount of time in the city where your BBL is being performed and have your operating surgeon look after you during that first week or so. Good luck, Dr. PG

BBL is often done as an outpatient procedure, which means you go home the same day. Regarding travel, it's not the best idea to fly within a week of surgery, as you are still pretty sore/immobile, and this puts you at a much higher risk of a clot in your leg that can travel up to your lung and cause serious issues. Your surgeon is the best one to ask if follow up can be done locally. I always tell my out of town patients to stay a week after surgery at a minimum, and to be prepared for the worst case scenario of needing to come back and see me if there are any complications.
