Hi, im from the uk and wonder if a a dermaroller or skin roller tool would help with scar tissue from a rhinoplasty (nose job). I have developed a pollybeak after surgery. Obviously the scar is under the skin but not sure what type of scar it is, if atropic or keloid? It feels like a little bumpp. I am aware that people can have kenalog injections to soften pollybeak defomrity and help break it down. In your opinion would a dermaroller be effective for this or not? Hope you can help

Dermaroller for Scar Tissue after Rhinoplasty

A dermaroller will not improve a pollybeak deformity. Kenaog injections may be helpful, but usually it is necessary to remove cartilage above the tip and/or increase tip projection.

Dermaroller for Scar Tissue After Rhinoplasty?

As the other surgeons intimated ,do not waste your time with the Dermaroller . it won't improve the Polly Beak deformity.See your surgeon for other options.

Dermaroller for post rhinoplasty scar tissue.

Dermaroller for post rhinoplasty scar tissue is a waste of time and money. See an experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeon to tell you if Kenalog would help or if it is cartilage that needs to be removed. Also, the tip may be unsupported which needs to be elevated instead!

Sorry the dermaroller can not correct a "polly beak" deformity. Only revision surgery can achieve the correction.

Rhinoplasty

Within the limits of never having examined your nose the following may apply. As far as I know the dermaroller is a device that treats the skin. Typically a "polybeak" is coming from tissues below the skin. Therefore, it would seem to be unlikely that this will have any effect on a post rhinoplasty "pollybeak."
