While one COULD replace each tooth with an implant (28 teeth=28 implants) that is not usually the route taken. More often than not, implant bridges are used. This allows enough room between each implant for proper bone and soft tissue health.
My teeth are in really bad shape. I have missing teeth and the teeth I have left are not in the best condition. I am looking to replace quite a few and wanted to know how many teeth can one person have implanted. Please help!

Without a lot of information, I really don't have a good answer to your question. When you have a complex treatment, especially when you have some questionable teeth. The answer is technically you could replace all your teeth, but there is likely never a need to get so many.
Additionally, for the upper front teeth, it is more aesthetic to do implant bridges instead of replacing tooth for tooth. You can also often get by with bridges on the back teeth. 8 Implants for the top and 8 on the bottom can fix 95% of people missing all their teeth. If you are unsure of the amount of implants your doctor is recommending, you may want to seek out a second opinion.
