I've done a lot of research, but I'm not sure how difficult the procedure would be. Please review my picture and give me an idea. Thank you!

Nasal hump
Not at all. What i would be more concerned about from your photo is your high radix (the nose start point at the forehead junction) and your projection. These issues need to be addressed with your hump removal in order to avoid flattening and shortening.

Dorsal hump reduction is not usually complicated
Dorsal hump reduction is one of the most commonly performed maneuvers in rhinoplasty surgery and it is usually not complicated. Occasionally, this is the only thing that is needed during the procedure. In my opinion, based on the somewhat distant photograph, the angle that your lip forms with your nose is very good. I would not recommend shortening the nose (elevating the nasal tip) since this could cause excessive nostril show on the frontal view.

Wonderful anatomy with some traps for the surgeon
You have delicate anatomy, but you have at least two traps that should alter rhinoplasty technique and that a pure reduction operation will not solve.
One is the level at which your bump begins--below your lower lash margin. In a nose like yours, that changes the balance, and I would raise your radix slightly (about 1.5 mm) to give you maximal postoperative proportion.
Secondly, you have inadequate tip projection. That only means that your tip cartilages are not strong...

Standard Rhinoplasty
Based on the pictures, your rhinoplasty will be fairly standard. The hump would be reduced and the tip elevated just a bit.

No Such Thing as a "Simple" Rhinoplasty
Hi Cheer Girl,
Rhinoplasty surgery for you will not be complicated. All that you need to do is show up and receive some anesthesia, and in what seems like one minute, you will be waking up in the recovery room with your new nose. Your most important and "complicated" thing to do is to choose your rhinoplasty surgeon most carefully.
Rhinoplasty is considered the most difficult of all plastic surgical procedures. Every nose that...

Getting rid ofa nasal bump
Dear Cheer girl,
Wanting to get rid of a bump on the nose is a commonly requested reason for rhinoplasty. It is relatively easy to do and does require the nasal bones to be repositioned (broken) to close the gap where the bump was. Unless you have other problems that you need to have addressed with your nasal appearance, this can usually be done through a closed approach that doesn't involve any external incisions. Your consultation with your rhinoplasty surgeon can...

Its not just the hump
It appears that you also have some tip ptosis (droop). If you were just to fix the hump, your nose might look very long and the tip even more ptotic. You want to get some tip rotation with your hump reduction for an optimal outcome.

Dorsal hump removal during rhinoplasty
Based on your photos, your bump (dorsal hump) can be easily removed by using an osteotome and infracturing the sides of your nasal bones. This is quite common in rhinoplasty.
Best wishes,

Rhinoplasty hump removal
Rhinoplasty is one the most challenging procedures that we perform in plastic surgery. Your issue is certainly not complicated but there are many nuances to this type of surgery. I do not like to characterize nose reshaping surgery as complicated or easy for that matter. In rhinoplasty surgery, correcting one thing may have an impact on another issue...so the key is that the surgeon that you chose should be well versed in all aspects of rhinoplasty. Good luck.

Removing hump is often part of Rhinoplasty
The size of the nasal hump doesn't make it;s removal any more or less complicated. The removal, in my case, is performed by using a surgical osteotome to cut through the bone on the top and then along each side of the nasal bone where it meets the face. It's fairly routine for a Rhinoplasty, IMHO.

Dorsal Hump Removal
Your photo shows a moderate dorsal hump. Removal of the hump would be a routine part of a rhinoplasty for someone like you who wishes to have a change in their nasal appearance. This does not present any particular difficulties. A good plastic surgeon ought to be able to achieve a good result for you.

Hump reduction is the #1 request in rhinoplasty
Of all the things people come in to have improved on their noses, the number one request is to have their hump removed. Rhinoplasty cannot be considered either simple or complex. Each patient needs to be addressed as an individual and surgery tailored to their personal requests, needs, evaluation and ethnicity. As a revision rhinoplasty specialist, sometimes its the patient who was deemed "simple" and a cookbook technique was applied who had the biggest problems. I find...

Rhinoplasty for bump and profile refinement, and reducing bulbous tip.
Rhinoplasty for bump and profile refinement, and reducing bulbous tip is normal for a nose like yours. Refining the bulge at the base of your nose can be done. The most important part of having a good result is choosing a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does natural noses.

Hump reduction is a common concern in rhinoplasty
The single most common cause for rhinoplasty is reduction of a large hump on the bridge of the nose. This common feature does not make your rhinoplasty complicated. If you have done your research you know that rhinoplasty is generally a one to two hour procedure with a general anesthesia, and about one week of recovery, again not complicated. If you have carefully explored your goals and what you like, you are ready for consultation with an experienced surgeon.
Best of luck...

Hump reduction is a frequent request for rhinoplasty surgery
Hump reduction is a particularly common request for female patients who are interested in a softer profile and would like the hump not to be so distracting. Continue your research and find a surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty. Here are some things to consider:
How low do your want your profile? Do you want the nose straight or with a slight "ski slope"?
If your surgeon has computer imaging this can help with planning. Another option is to...

Getting rid of a hump during rhinoplasty
Removing a hump is one of the most common reasons for getting a rhinoplasty. When the hump is large, the nose will need to be narrowed. In some cases, there is a risk of compromising the internal size of the airway during this maneuver, leading to breathing difficulty. Currently, spreader grafts are the accepted methods of preserving the nasal airway during hump removal rhinoplasty.
Ask you surgeon about the technique he/she plans to use in you case. Discuss the option of using a...

Hump Reduction Nose Job - Reduction Rhinoplasty
Simply put, the appearance of the outside of the nose is not as indicative of complexity as what awaits the Plastic surgeon inside the nose. The CONDITION, SHAPE and LOCATION of the SEPTUM and the INFERIOR TURBINATES would largely determine how the nose would be reduced.
In the most common scenario, if the structures above do not require correction, the hump (made mostly of cartilage and a little bone is removed and then the side walls of the nose are moved in after a controlled fracture...

If I Decided to Get my Nose Done Would the Surgery Be Complicated Because of my Hump?
Removal of a dorsal hump has to be discussed with your surgeon of choice, as results can vary. Although removing a hump is a simple technical process, the results are very variable depending on the skill of the surgeon. Too much resection will leave you with the traditional "ski slope". Some patients request a slight fullness rather than a straight bridge.
When removing a hump, support of the lateral walls may need to be addressed to prevent the traditional nasal valve collapse...

Good candidate for Rhinoplasty
Reduction of a nasal hump is one of the most common reason patients seek rhinoplasty. Looking at your profile on the photograph, it looks like you nasal tip may be overprojected as well. Seek a live consulation with an experiencd rhinoplasty surgeon to review your goals for rhinoplasty. This should not be an extraordinarily difficult case, but hard to determine without examining you in person.

Rhinoplasty for dorsal hump
Reducing a nasal hump is a common reason for seeking rhinoplasty, and it would not make your surgery complicated or difficult. When you have a consultation for rhinoplasty, the surgeon will look at your nose from all angles, look inside the nose, see if you have difficulty breathing, and assess what you need for both the best function and best appearance. It is key to communicate what you dislike about your nose and if you are having any difficulty breathing. It is also very important to...
