How Many Days Prior to an Abdominoplasty Should You Have a Pre Op Appointment?

There is not a standard for this, but medical issues discovered during the consultation should be addressed sooner rather than later.  Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of tummy tuck procedures each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.

Pre-operative tests before a tummy tuck

most patients have a tummy tuck pre-operative testing and exam about 2-3 weeks prior to surgery. Obviously, if they have multiple medical issues they need to have those addressed and optimized well in advance of thier surgery date.

Pre Op Appointment for Abdominoplasty

I like to see my patients two weeks prior to surgery, lab tests are ordered at this time to make sure the patient is healthy. Prescriptions are given at this time so the patient can get them filled ahead of time. Other surgeons may do things differently, this works the best for me. Good luck.

Hello

In general we would like to schedule your preop appointment approximately 2-4 weeks prior to the surgical date.

This would give us ample time to order any medical lab tests and receive the results, process your photos , order your customized Postop garment, start you on peri operative naturopathic medications , coordinate any necessary post op home nursing care and answer any additional questions that may rise during your preperation.

All of these would help us optimize you for a smooth recovery and a great result.

Thank you

Tummy tuck preoperative appointment

We schedule our preoperative appointments 2 weeks before surgery. This is a decent amount of time to sort out any medical issues and enough time to get all your questions answered. You shouldn't feel restricted by this appointment to get all your questions answered. If you have questions you should always be able to contact multiple people in the office to get them answered.

This varies greatly from one office to another so you need to ask the question of the doctor doing your surgery. In our office we have no set time for that since we do a thorough medical history and physical exam followed by an extensive analysis of the patients desires and available surgery to achieve that goal on the first visit. The only reason for another visit would be if the patient changed their mind or wanted to go over things again.

This is on office policy decision, usually not a medical one.

We try for two weeks so that if any issues are identified they can often be resolved without changing the patient's schedule.

All the best.
