Have to say after taking a shower this morning I am feeling incredible compared to the previous 3 days! =) I have this edge/roll like thing going on when I sit. This is due to swelling correct? I didn't have any rolls or any fat for that matter before surgery. I am quite thin for my height and worked out daily. Having said that, do you think my swelling time might be decreased? I feel like I will never see my hip bones or ribs again! lol Also when will my belly button start to go inward?

Tummy tuck swelling

It seems like you are doing pretty well!  It takes time for the swelling to subside after tummy tuck.  It take at least a month for the swelling to come down.  If you had liposuction at the same time, it will take longer. During your recovery time, you should wear garment to compress the area.  Walking is good; but limit physical activities/exercises for 6 weeks.  Follow your plastic surgeon's post-operative instructions.  Best wishes.

Tummy tuck swelling will persists for approximately one month, so be patient. If your belly botton is not going inward then this will likely not get any better. An "innie" belly button is dependent on surgical technique.

Tummy Tuck, Abdominoplasty

You are doing great!  The recovery time after an abdominoplasty can be several months.  The swelling is usually fluid build up under the skin (seroma fluid).  This will resolve over time.  Sometimes the plastic surgeon has to aspirate the fluid.  That means remove it with a tiny needle into the skin.  This will yield immediate improvement.  The belly button will take a while to be less swollen.  You should follow the advice of your plastic surgeon... more
