Dark blood in drain may be a problem

The amount and color of the fluid in your drain is very important. You need to call your surgeon and speak to him/her about it. It may be totally fine, or you may have a bleed that requires urgent surgery....the point is that only your surgeon can tell you. turn your computer off and pick up your phone.

Dark Red blood from Drain, Normal?

While your color and amount of drainage will change significantly during your post-op period, contact your surgeon ASAP if you are concerned.
