There are 3 things likely causing your dark circles. 1. Fatty bag of the lower eyes casting a shadow 2. Increased darkening from veins under the skin. 3. Possible allergies or fluid retention. Hi Marilyn, It is difficult to answer your question accurately without examining you or seeing photos. Many patients with your complaints respond well to Restylane injections to fill the hollowness of the lower eye lid area which decreases the dark shadowing effect of the bags.
