Same Dark Circles and Eye Bags Treatment in the US?

I am 26 years old and my dark circles are more prominent than ever. It started when I was 18 and is now progressing to eye bags undereyes. Make-up does not seem to cover them up well enough anymore. My friend suggested I go overseas to do a treatment, which she has mentioned about an injection following a surgery of cutting out the extra skin under my eyes. I really want to do what it takes. Are there any suggestions for a similar surgery over here in the US?

Be careful where you look for help

Dear Marylin You need a cosmetic surgeon with an interest in lower eyelid circles. At your age, I would strongly advise against radical or even standard eyelid surgery in the hope that it might fix the dark circles. Generally, dark circles can be significantly benefited now using Restylane to fill the tear trough hollow. For most, the big issue in the dark circle is the lack of fat between the thin lower eyelid skin and the muscle that is just under the skin, the orbicularis oculi muscle.... more

Dark Circles under the eyes

There are 3 things likely causing your dark circles. 1. Fatty bag of the lower eyes casting a shadow 2. Increased darkening from veins under the skin. 3. Possible allergies or fluid retention. Surgery will fix only the part of reducing any extra skin and fat. It is not going to get rid of your circles. You have to first get diagnosed by a qualified physician as to what is your underlying problem .Then you can have either surgery and/or chemical peel or laser, possibly allergy medicine and... more

Dark Circle and Eye Bag Treatment; Exclusive to Europe or Available Even in Oakland, California?

Hi Marilyn, It is difficult to answer your question accurately without examining you or seeing photos. Many patients with your complaints respond well to Restylane injections to fill the hollowness of the lower eye lid area which decreases the dark shadowing effect of the bags. If after Restylane there is excess skin, then a lower lid skin pinch can be performed even here in the United States, I would go out on a limb and say even in your hometown,Oakland, California. Consult with a board... more

Arcus Release and fat grafting best choice for dark circles

The arcus marginalis release and fat grafting done through an internal incision (transconjunctival) is the best treatment for correction of dark circles and slight fullness (bagginess) of the lower eyelid, especially in young people. I have been doing this procedure in the Boston area for 8 years and was unaware it was being done in other countries.
