Can lower lateral cartilage be avulsed?

Asked By:Lyndis in Dallas, TX

I recently suffered a trauma that I believe caused my lower lateral cartilage to tear from it's connection to the upper lateral cartilage, it feels almost loose around the cartilage now, like it has a slight bounce when touching it lightly, there is also a pain higher up and I now have valve collapse on that side when I breathe deeply. Visually though, it looks the same as before. I know, I should see an ENT (I am), but I'd like to know your thoughts on whether this could be my problem.
