Laser treatment side effects - can laser skin treatments cause pain in teeth and gums?

I had two "non-invasive, non-ablative" laser rejuvenation treatments on my face and neck about four weeks apart. There was no down time after the treatment and my skin did look better (it was supposed to encourage collagen growth and firm skin).
During the first procedure, the nurse put gauze on my teeth to protect them and asked if I wanted a mouth guard. I did not have pain. That night I had severe pain in my teeth but it subsided in a few days. The next procedure, I did use mouth guard and no pain, but a week later, pain resumed in teeth.
I have had relentless, persistent pain in upper gum areas and behind nose for four months. ENT, Neurology, and dental exams normal, including sinus CT and brain MRI. Treating with Neurotin led to severe dry mouth so now using Tylenol with some relief. The nurse insists there is no relationship with laser, neuro thinks it caused a neuropathy. Has anyone heard of this? Help!
