I am looking to do a nostril reduction and I am finding that the cost in upstate NY seems to be quite expensive for what this procedure would usually cost elsewhere. I have found that on this site the average cost is between $2000-$3500. I was recently quoted $5,500, which includes the anesthesia fee $590 and operating room fee $850. Is that too expensive for what I am asking for? Both the Dr. and I agree that my bridge and side profile are fine. No changes needed there.

The only way to narrow wide nasal bones is with osteotomies. This involves breaking the nasal bones. It's also important to adjust the tip to the new narrower nasal bones. To see patients similar to yours with wide nasal bones please see the link below
If the area improves with pressure, this is likely swelling. At 3 weeks, the swelling should still be present. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
