What Should I Do Next to Correct my Daughters Nose ?

My 8 yr old broke her nose last Monday, visited the ER and seen the ENT Thursday. Today is Tuesday and she had her " corrective surgery" completed by the ENT. She had a commuted fracture with right displacement. The cast it packed it and sent us on our way. This evening the cast slid right off her face. He used 2 pieces of tape and casting just over the bridge of the nose. Now the nose appears to be displaced again. Any suggestions on how to proceed ???

It is hard to know whether the deviation that you're seeing is related to the fractures or due to swelling from the injury and subsequent surgery. I would recommend that you get followup with your daughter's surgeon ASAP for re-evaluation. They will be able to evaluate her nose and determine what course of action to follow. I hope this information is helpful. Stephen Weber, M.D. Lone Tree Facial Plastic Surgeon

Duaghter's broken nose

You should simply call your surgeon and get in to see him/her.Unless the nose is really badly broken I would probably not do anything too aggressive. If there is any residual irregularity you can deal with it when sh'e older and after her facr has finished growing.
