Who is a Good Candidate for a Coral Eye Implant?

My husband had an eye accident in childhood. The eye was "drained", and latter on a plastic prosthesis mimicking the appearance of the other eye was inserted over the eye. They are no implants in the orbital socket. We read about the coral implant with a peg and we are interested if this can be done for him, and if the motility and cosmetic appearance of the eye will improve. What are the pros and cons to this procedure and if it can be done so long after the accident.
