2 Years After Mastectomy/Reconstruction Still Have Tight Chest Feeling and Pain, What Can I Do?

I had a double bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction 2 years ago and am still having a boa constrictor feeling around my chest. The pain is chronic, I am fatiqued and have days I cannot even function. I have had blocks and a rhyzotomy with no relief. Any suggestions?

Check with your plastic surgeon

If the constricted feeling is from contracture around your implants you may need a capsulectomy. Another option is to switch you to an autologous tissue reconstruction such as a TRAM flap or Latissimus flap. Check with your surgeon about options or possibly get a second opinion. Good Luck, Dr T
