I'm 42 years old and 11 days post op (tummy tuck and breast augmentation) but experiencing what I found is called meralgia paresthetica. How common is this? Does it usually subside as swelling decreases? I'm an avid runner and have some half maratons coming up. The pain is when I walk and when I cross my legs or just move "wrong".

Meralgia Parasthetica

You are just 11 days from surgery and there is certain to be swelling around the nerve involved in Meralgia Parasthetica. Meralgia paresthetica is rare even without a tummy tuck

MP is a rare neurological diagnosis associated with "tingling thighs." If this is truly what you have, the likelihood is that it is from irritation of the nerve associated with it (lateral femoral cutaneous nerve I believe, but don't quote me on that). Stick close with your doctor and follow their advice for conservative therapy as this should probably resolve on its own.
