generally there are two types of pain...pain from rubbing from the new braces that last a week or so until the tissue toughens up and pain from tooth movement that usually gets better in a few days. We never have to prescribe anything stronger than advil or tylenol for these problems.
Invisalign eliminates the pain from the rubbing but the teeth will still get sore from movement for a few days after each new set of aligners is started.
