Columella "Step Down" Post Open Rhinoplasty

I had an open ryno/Septoplasty 3 weeks ago. It seems thats the skin where the v-shaped incision was made is not even, there is a "step-down". What can be done to correct this? Is there a specific procedure? I am very happy with the look of my nose, but want to correct this uneven skin between my nostrils.

Columellar "Step" after Rhinoplasty

This "step"  in the columella after open rhinoplasty will continue to improve over the next 3-4 months. If you and your surgeon are not satisfied with the final appearance, it is very easy to revise this small scar. Enjoy your new nose.

Open rhinoplasty problems

One of the main problems with an open rhinoplasty is the scar of the columella. It most cases it does heal well but it can be noticeable. Another problem is prolonged and greater swelling of the tip area. You are very early after the procedure and the scar, even if there is a "step" down will fade. I would usually not do any revision until about 9months after surgery.

Columella "step" after open rhinoplasty.

It is too soon to make any determination. Wait at least 3 months and if there is no improvement see your surgeon for a revision.
