So may questions! I have a consult with a GYN about getting a tubal-ligation soon. If she agrees to do it (I have no kids so she may not), it will happen within the next few months. I just learned here that I can combine. I have not met with a cosmetic surgeon yet. Was waiting until December break. Seems safer to have one surgery rather than a bunch. What questions should I ask the GYN about combining? What if she won't combine? Do I have to use her approved cosmetic surgeon/location?
Answer: Combining surgeries often times makes sense Thank you for your question. Most patients who are candidates for tummy tucks are women who have gone through pregnancy. Others are those who have lost a significant amount of weight and now have excess skin. It is certainly reasonable to consider having a tubal ligation if you and certain that you do not want to have children. Combining a tummy tuck with a tubal ligation is not uncommon and can save both time and money. It may be wise to select your plastic surgeon first and see if, in fact, you are a candidate for a tummy tuck. Obviously, in order to have a combine procedure, both surgeons must have privileges at the same facility. Make sure that you see someone who is board certified.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Combining procedures: GYN and aesthetic surgery In my opinion is rarely wise to combine GYN procedures with aesthetic surgery. There is really not any upside to this It's best to break up the procedures. Have your GYN procedure first. You can follow this by having your aesthetic procedures several months later.

Answer: TT and tubal ligation When planning a combined procedure requiring more than one surgeon it is never too early to plan so that schedules may be coordinated. This is not an unusual combination of procedures. The issue may be finding a place where both surgeons can operate and that equipment is present for both. If your surgeons have their own office based surgicenters, it is likely that neither can have the other operating in their OR. The rules are quite strict. After you see your GYN, if it doesn't seem like she can do this combination, start to see some plastic surgeons, and ask up front about your plan and if there is a GYN they can work with. Thanks, and best wishes.
