How to Choose Doctor for a Laser Treatment for Scars?

I have face scars due to acne and skin picking, they've been defined hyperpigmented scars. My physician examined me and stated that laser treatment would be just fine. I really want to play this safe and wonder what qualifications I should look for in any doctor I'll get in touch for this.

I understand that having a plastic surgery or dermatology qualification doesn't imply to be qualified to do laser treatments (I may be wrong though!) so, what kind of qualification should I look for, specific to laser treatment? Thanks in advance!
