Chin Liposuction to Make Big Round Chin Smaller?

I have a kinda big round chin, not too prominent though. It's okay if I'm not smiling but it gets bigger when I smile and it really shows in photos. And well it's pretty, I don't know how to say this, I guess you can say its squishy, like its mostly made of soft tissue, not bone.

So what kind of procedure should I consider if I want to make it smaller? Would Chin Liposuction work? Or a procedure that removes soft tissue? Or would I have to have part of the bone removed .

Chin Liposuction will not make big round chin smaller, Chin Contouring may be necessary

The shape and appearance of the actual chin, not the neck, is primarily determined by the shape and size of the chin bone and the skin and muscles of the chin soft tissues. Although fat deposits are common in the neck below the chin (people often refer to neck fat as chin fat) the skin of the chin is tightly adherent to the underlying muscles and the fat in the chin area is tightly compressed. Any attempt to liposuction the actual chin tissue overlying the chin bone can result is visible... more

Chin liposuction can recontour the chin and jaw line

Liposuction of the chin and jaw is an excellent technique to recontour the jaw line and to remove some of the heaviness from the lower face. Your best bet is to work with a board-certified plastic surgeon who is well experienced in liposuction, chin surgery, and neck lifts. This surgeon will first evaluate the quality of the skin in your neck to determine if you have enough elasticity for the skin to contract after the surgery.

Making Chin Smaller is possible

Mostly the chin is made up of the muscle and fat. Both can be removed by making an incision under the chin and elevating the skin, then cutting out the bulk of the fat and the muscle. In very few cases the bony part is enlarged and needs to be broken and set back. You can usually tell by feeling the chin tissue. Liposuction alone will not achieve the objectives, it has to be direct excision. Regards
