I would recommend that you look for Board Certified, ASPS approved surgeons as well as surgeons with whom you are comfortable. Ask for referrals from friends and your gynecologist. Typically, after searching for a while, some names will recur. Go in for a cosultation and trust your instincts. Typically this is... more

I would recommend going to the ASPS's website. All the doctors listed on the site are of the highest accreditation. Good luck!

Being a member of ASPS, I would agree with Dr. Cruise's recommendation. Furthermore, it is likely that you will want to schedule more than one consult. There are many options available and you should explore and discuss these. Choose a qualified (board certified plastic surgeon in good status) with whom you feel comfortable

Ultimately you want someone you can connect with that has a good amount of experience and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Ask your doctor if you can talk to several of his/her patients. I recommend an implant with all lifts to enhance and sustain the shape.

I have had consults w/ other Plastic surgeons, but they don't know what was done & LSL isn't willing to say. They don't keep surgical reports to descibe what they did, so it's $150.00 here & $125.00 there, for me. There have been a few very nice P.S' s here that say what they believe was done to us& that's all we know. Not many offer alot of hope.

I would completely agree with Dr. Raine. I have heard several different comments about the "Lifestyle lift" which is essentially a trademark that is owned by (according to the USPTO): REGISTRANT LIFESTYLE LIFT HOLDING, INC. CORPORATION MICHIGAN 100 KIRTS BOULEVARD TROY MICHIGAN 48084. According to their website: "The Lifestyle Lift® facial firming procedure usually takes approximately one hour to complete under local anesthesia but may require more time to achieve best possible results or if additional procedures (such as neck firming or eyelid procedures) are performed." However, they don't indicate in their photos the exact combination of procedures the patients underwent. So how can you fix it when you don't know what and how it was done? As such, it is primarily a marketing term and, to the best of my knowledge, does not define a surgical procedure. There are no textbooks or articles, to my knowledge, which describe the steps of the operation. Asking to fix it requires that we know what was done. Other "face lifts" have text books or scientific articles which describe the exact surgical maneuvers. For example the MACS lift or the Composite lift or the Deep Plane face lift. Seek consultations with at least 2 if not 3 physicians and find a physician you feel comfortable with. Did you meet your Lifestyle lift surgeon prior to the day of surgery to discuss your concerns or did you meet with a consultant who did not perform the operation?

When I went it was in 06. I saw a consult & was discouraged from meeting with the Dr. She did a finger pull to indicate where I would be cut, (small incision in the ear possibly extending into the fold). Thats what I was told. I didn't book because their website didn't indicate whether the DR they were giving me was a Plastic Surgeon. One of four pieces of paper in my record indicated, "she would not book"!! 'Wants Dr's credentials'. A week or more later I met w/ him & he did the same ' finger pull'&I asked if he was a Plastic surgeon& was told yes. In between that time, and at the consult, she said the reason his certificate wasn't on the website was because it had not been updated. I was told that by others employed there. There website back then said ' WE hire only the Best of the Best Plastic surgeons'... I believed them. I had one prodedure, the 'Lifestyle Lift', supposedly a small incision in the ear or in front in the fold depending on the excised skin. I was NEVER told they would cut all the way aroung my ears. I promise you, I'd never had done it because if I wanted to go that far, I'd rather be put to sleep! I just don't get why a Dr& the Inc. didn't keep a surgical report if every procedure is different! Why won't they say what they did to me so that I can possibly get more help to reduce this pain? Why, when I asked for my medical records, was I told , "No, they have to be looked over by the Doctor& sent to "LEGAL"??? To me, that's so unbelievable. I got to know many in the healthcare business w/ my mothers past surgery & when I asked what their procedure was when being asked by a patient for medical records was, they all agreed they just copy them. All i know is supposedly it's a type of SMAS & trimming of the skin. Now I hear sutures around nerves, skin/muscle folded over onto itself& sutured. I feel that if my earlobe was freed, I wouldn't hurt so much. Thats what it 'feels' like. I have bumps behind my ear w/ dark sutures coming through & get a sensation of being choked& of my ears being ripped off. It looks like under my chin/throat area, it is swollen. Sometimes it looks pale under my throat& below that, blotchy red spots are there.Numbness in the sides of my face closer to the ear & altho I healed nicely in front of the ear, the incision could've been done w/ more pride because it is a straight line down my face. My nephew colors in the lines better than this MD does his cutting. I was never 'marked' to show where they would be& my med. records ,however flimsy, also states I called the day after surgery, upset, asking why my sutures looked so long down my face. I've seen, 3 PS's & a neuro. They are all clueless as how to help me.
