Do I have an overjet, overbite, or both? Also, what are recommended treatment options--I feel my overbite/overjet is quite severe. I am hoping to avoid metal braces; do you think in my case Invisalign would work? Thank you for your time and answers!

As long as the attachment fits well with the Invisalign aligners it doesn't make a difference if the attachment template was used or one of your active aligners. If the orthodontist noticed an issue he/she would have just removed the attachments and done them again.
After Invisalign, the teeth do need to settle. The trays have been between the teeth for months and the teeth have not been touching except for eating! We try to adjust the bite after the first 6 months but every dentist does it differently.
