As time passes by is the chance of infection or complications arising decreased in rhinoplasty? Also after initially being told I had goretex implants I now have been told my ps actually used medpor in the tip of my nose. What are the chances of it giving me problems in the future, out of 100 people with medpor implants how many would actually get problems? And should I just have it removed before my body tissue grows into it? Please respond to my question I am losing sleep over this. Many thanks

Risk of Complications after Medpor Placement

The risk of complications after nasal Medpor placement do decrease with time. Although Medpor is a good implant, I recommend the use of the patient's own tissue. In the future, if you notice any changes such as swelling or tenderness, immediately contact your surgeon.

Rhinoplasty and Complications

As time goes by tissues heal and you will have in growth of your own tissue into the implant.  The best implant is using your own tissue ofcourse.  However, if you are not having problems at this time, I would leave things be. Complications can come about any time early or late but to worry about it now is not rational.  Enjoy your results.
