Can accutane be prescribed ( and covered by most insurance) for things such as super oily skin, rosacea, or mild acne? Or is it only prescribed and approved for cystic acne?
Can Accutane Be Prescribed for Things Other Than Cystic Acne?

What skin conditions does Accutane work for
There are many skin conditions that Accutane works for. When FDA approvals are done for medications, they may only go in for one or two things, but they can work on a multitude of problems. However, insurance usually only covers prescriptions when they are written for the FDA approved condition(s). Insurance may require you to try other avenues before Accutane, like topicals, washes, retinoids, etc., but there isn't a specific code differentiation for types of acne for insurance billing.
