Implants Last

Breast implants can last a very long time, typically for 10-15 years. Unless there is a problem with them, you should be fine. It is also good to have a yearly mammogram as well.

Implant longevity in reconstructions

Are difficult to predict. With the newer cohesive gel implants, the concern about rupture are much less. As a prior poster said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If your breasts are natural in appearance, I personally do not worry if the shell cold be torn. According to what we know, there are no life-threatinging issues.

Breast reconstruction and implants

There is no specific life of an implant. I always say "if they ain't broke...then don't fix 'em!" Unless there is a problem leave them alone.
