I currently have juvederm volbella in my lips and i have been looking into permalip implants. Many people say that even the 5mm (largest size as i understand) only makes a subtle difference in the size of their lips. i know that the goal of getting lip implants is to eliminate the need of injections. However, i'm wondering if i can combine the permalip (or another brand of lip implant) with hyaluronic acid injections to create the volume and shape that i want in my lips.

Answer: Combining fillers with permanent lip implants
If you are prone to cold sores whenever you have any
treatment of the lips or surrounding area it may reactivate it. So you always have to inform your provider
about your history so we can give you prophylactic treatment for the outbreak
which usually involves taking a few antiviral pills....
Thank you for your question. I would worry too much about this. However, you can help reduce the swelling by applying cold compresses to the treated area. If your bump persists for more than a week I recommend having a follow up with your injector for an evaluation. Best of Luck!
