Can eye bags and fat be removed without blepharoplasty?

I have had two eyelifts on the lower lid and there is not a lot of elasticity left. However, I have fat under one eye and would like to if possible have it removed. Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible but this is semantic. There is a technique called the transconjunctival blepharoplasty procedure whereby the fat is removed via an incision on the INSIDE of the eyelid. There is no external incision. The inside incision does not generally require stitches. I have used this to remove fat on... more

Multiple lower lid surgery increase your chances for having complications. If you had two previous surgeries and still have some fat deposits, it seems that a transconjunctival fat removal is an ideal answer. A canthopexy procedure might need to be added for better lower lid support. There is also a procedure... more

Revisional lower eyelid blepharoplasty is always complex and more risky than a first time blepharoplasty. The biggest risk of revisional blepharoplasty of the lower eyelid is weakening of the lower eyelid support by the incision on the outside of the lower eyelid which can lead to ectropion and change in... more

This is a question that is almost impossible to answer without seeing you for a consultation. I would recommend you go to an experienced surgeon, and perhaps talk to several surgeons about your options. In general it is possible, but it will probably require another surgery, and having a third surgery on the... more
