Good exfoliation will actually thicken your skin and make it healthier

Well, I think that if you’re too aggressive on your skin it’s going to be irritated. It does not physically thin the skin.

In fact, good exfoliation will thicken up the outer layers of the skin. Not the dead skin cells that are on the outside because that is what it’s taking off - it’s taking off dead skin cells on the outer most layer of the stratum corneum. This is going to reveal more of the healthy tissue that is below and now you can get a good product to penetrate the skin much more effectively. Once you do that you can get much better results in all the things that you’re doing, the healthy things for your skin to improve the tone and the texture, and all those kinds of things.

So, no, it does not thin the skin. The only thing that I think that people perceive is that their finding either having too strong of treatments - their person is being too aggressive - or they’re finding irritation and may be not hydrating their skin afterwards enough.
