I have a prominent brow and nose. I am a female and I think I will look much more appealing with a softer look. I was wanting to know more about the pain and procedure combined?
Answer: Brow bone shaving & Rhinoplasty In additional to many male to female transsexual patients, I have had a number of female patients who also wanted their brow bones reduced as well as their noses made more feminine. Since a prominent brow bone as well as a large nose are both masculine characteristics, both procedures go a long way to feminize a face. And performing them both at the same time is the most expedient way to accomplish this end. Not only can the brow bone be reduced, but we can contour the forehead to make it slightly more curved, which makes it look even more feminine. I have some examples on my RealSelf site.

Answer: Rhinoplasty with brow reduction Thank you for your question. These procedures are easily combined. Neither procedure is very painful on average, especially the brow reduction. My patients usually require minimal to no pain medication after this procedure when performed alone. If you are only looking to remove a couple millimeters of brow bone and you have favorable anatomy (low hairline, not overly convex forehead) this can usually be accomplished endoscopically through very small incisions behind the hairline. See a rhinoplasty specialist who also has experience with facial bone contouring for a consultation to determine what changes would optimize your individual anatomy. All the best!

Answer: Rhinoplasty and brow bone shave A full set of pictures are required to make any determination about being a candidate for rhinoplasty and brow bone reduction. The rhinoplasty procedure is not painful, as long as there is no packing placed inside the nose. Look for a rhinoplasty specialist that does not place any packing in in the nose, since this practice has been abandoned many years ago. The outer cortex of the forehead bone can only be shaved down a couple millimeters before entering the frontal sinus, which will create a defect if that occurs.

Answer: Brow Bone Reduction and Rhinoplasty Rhinoplasty and brow boen reduction can be combined in one operation. While both usually require an open approach the techiques used for them can be quite varied. Most female brow bone reductions usually involve burring the outer table of the frontal sinus only. (unlike men) It is not usually a painful procedure as the forehead will be numb for awhile afterwards. Each rhinoplasty can be done very differently depending on the needs of the nose. It also is not painful even if the bones are broken and one gets bruising under their eyes. I would expected some eyelid swelling when both are done together.
