I will be getting a mommy makeover in two months. Will I be able to ride in a car 2 days after surgery for three hours back home? Is it dangerous?
Answer: Will I be able to ride in a car two days after surgery? Yes but it may not be comfortable and make sure you get out of the car every hour just to walk around for a bit...this will help lower your risk for forming blood clots after surgery. You may also want to ask your operating surgeon about the use of compression stockings and/or anticoagulants if you are at higher risk (i.e. smoker, on birth control, h/o clotting disorders, etc.) for developing blood clots. Good luck!

Answer: Driving two days after surgery You should be okay to do this if you're getting anything but a brazilian butt lift. However please take frequent breaks to reduce the risk of blood clots. Always listen to your surgeon's advice.

Answer: Precautions after tummy tuck After a tummy tuck, it is best to stay close to the surgeon for the first day after surgery. At that point you can travel home, but must be careful. There are specific issues you need to address with the surgeon regarding blood clots in the legs during long car rides.

Answer: Ride in car Please ask your surgeon this question. For most patients, a 3 hour ride soon after surgery is safe, but not always comfortable. I would recommend postponing the ride if possible.

Answer: Will I be able to ride in a car 2 days after surgery? If all is going well with your immediate recovery you should be able to safely travel in your car for 2-3 hours. Most surgeons incorporate some type of evaluation to determine the risks of blood clots after surgery. If you're at sufficient risk your surgeon may prescribe some type of anticoagulation medication for you. If you are not at an unusual risk level was still be important to stop each hour and walk for 5 or 10 minutes to help prevent the formation of a blood clot. Once you are home it would be best not to plan on any car travel were 10-14 days postoperatively. Most importantly you should closely follow the recommendations of your surgeon. Good luck
