My 14-year old grandson had acne on his chest, back, and shoulders which developed into a staph infection during football training last year. After treatment with antibiotics and Accutane the acne and infection subsided but he is left with about 50 ugly keloid scars ranging in size from a pea to a small marble. Over the last several months he has endured 4 laser/steroid injection treatments with no visible changes in keloid size. Should his parents consider surgery? What kind? Topical treatments? He is 6' tall, 175 lbs, an outstanding athlete who wants to swim this summer. Thank you for any advice and/or referrals to Northern/Southern California. Concerned Grandma
