2 years post-op, I have a dog ear to the left of the incision. Am I a candidate for a revised TT to lower the scar? (Photo)

Having undergone a major skin excision and abdominal contouring, a simple skin excision and scar revision yeilds excellent improvements that are easy with return to normal activity almost right away. Also, most can be done with local anesthesia and minimal cost. To lower the scar is a touch more work but still easy in the big picture - it might require some more sedation/anesthesia. When revisions are done, the tension on the closure is less than initially and is likely to yield better scars. Make yourself happy with some easy polishing fixes:)

Dear Barbara,You may want to evaluate a full tummy tuck revision where the scar is lowered, the belly button re-done, and any additional repair such as abdominal wall tightening and liposuction are also included if needed.  You will likely end up with a small vertical scar between your pubic bone and your belly button, but this usually heals great is not really visible.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
