Can Tip Rhinoplasty Be Done to Have the Result I Want? (photo)

I would like a nose job on the tip to make the lowest part between my nostrils smaller because it hangs down too far when I smile. Also, I have more cartilage on the right side then I do on the left making my nose look crooked. I also find my tip at the highest part between my nostrils to be too short. Is there any way to lower that so not so much of my nostrils show? I know that sounds like a lot, but any help would be appreciated Thank you!

Rhinoplasty for columellar show and drooping tip

+2

To reduce the columellar show, a columellar-plasty  can be performed which involves trimming back skin and cartilage on the inside of the columella.  To fix a drooping tip when smiling, releasing the depressor septi ligament is performed at the time of the surgery. This prevents the tip from drooping upon animation. Any other tip cartilage asymmetries can be addressed with a tip-plasty . Please see the link below for examples in our rhinoplasty photo gallery

Can Tip Rhinoplasty Be Done to Have the Result I Want?

I think that the tip asymmetry and columella can be addressed.  The nostril show will be trickier, and I would only recommend altering this if it is severe.  I would need better pictures from multiple views or an exam to determine this.  Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.

Tip rhinoplasty to improve hanging columella

It's hard to say what could be done to your nose based off only your one photo.

In general rhinoplasty can be used to both improve a hanging columella and tip asymmetry.

You can read more about hanging columella surgery at my web reference link below.

Rhinoplasty tip work

It seems from your description that your focus is on yoru tip structures. It is best to be seen in person to look at you in all views to determine what can be done.  Good luck.

Rhinoplasty to improve tip and columellar shape

There are a variety of rhinoplasty techniques that can be done to improve to width and projection of your nasal tip, and change the relationship of your columella to your nostrils. 'Tension tip' can also be addressed by simply cutting a small muscle from inside of your upper lip.
