I was wondering, is there a certain age that one has to be before having a Butt augmentation?
Butt Augmentation Age Limit?

Minimum age for buttock augmentation
It is recommended for patients to be 18 years of age for most types of cosmetic plastic surgery, including buttock augmentation. One of the few exceptions is rhinoplasty (nasal surgery) which can be done on patients as young as 16 years of age. These are guidelines outlined by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for more information on age requirements for cosmetic procedures.
Cosmetic Butt augmentation for adults only!
Thanks for the question. But augmentation for cosmetic reasons should only be performed on adults. This is a real surgery with real risks and requires real commitment from the patient. Like all aesthetic surgery, it should only be performed on adults who understand the benefits risks and level of commitment that they will have to make to ensure a positive result.
If the surgery is not for cosmetic reasons but is necessary for reconstruction, the plastic surgeon may consider performing the procedure. In our practice, we have performed butt contouring surgery in young adults who had significant deformity from congenital tumors such as teratomas. This was very successful but again this was for function, not cosmetic purposes.

Buttock augmentation age limitations
There are several different issues involved here.
If you have a deformity, this can be perfomed at any age but most likely should wait unitl skeletal maturity which us typcially around 16 for females and 18 for males.
When it comes to cosmetic or elective surgery, an informed consent for the procedure needs to be obtained from a responsible adult or an emancipated minor.
In many practices, plastic surgeons are reluctant to perform a purely cosmetic procedure on a minor even with the parent's consent.

Most responsible and Board Certified plastic surgeons would not perform aesthetic surgery on minors.
More important than the patient's chronological age, however, is their level of understanding and maturity. While aesthetic surgery has become safer and more accepted, it is still, in the final analysis, surgery, and a person needs to be able to fully understand what they are getting into- and this requires a certain level of maturity that most people attain late in the teen years.
Talk to your parents, and if they feel it may be appropriate, they can help you find a surgeon certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery (all boards are not created equal).
