Broken Tooth After Rhinoplasty

I had revision rhinoplasty a little over two weeks ago and now have a broken tooth (upper right molar). I noticed while eating and part of the tooth crumbled off. I scheduled an appointment to see a dentist in three days. Of course I'm worried about the tooth, but also worried about my nose being hurt by the dentist since the surgery was so recent (and because I really like my new nose). Is it safe to see a dentist this soon after rhinoplasty? Thanks.

When is it Safe to Have Dental Work Following Rhinoplasty

Hi Kk, It is okay to have your tooth taken care of by your dentist. Be sure to let them know about your recent rhinoplasty (just in case they have not already given you compliments about your new nose). We can do rhinoplasty without touching your molars, your dentist should be able to repair your molar without touching your nose. Good luck and be well. Dr. P

You or your dentist should consult with the operative surgeon before addressing the "broken" tooth. What was the cause?

Broken Tooth After Rhinoplasty

Just tell the dentist and the assisstant not to rest their hands near your nose or brush/bump the nose in any way. Also try not to hold your breath during the injections or work that could increase the blood pressure to your nose...as always you should get specific recommendations from your Rhinoplasty Surgeon.

Broken tooth and rhinoplasty

I suspect it should be fine to have your dentist fix your tooth. You may want to tell you dentist that you had surgery recently just to be safe.
