I'm considering breast reduction surgery, and I want to know what to look for in before and after photos. What should I pay particular attention to?

Breast Reduction Procedure?

Thank you for the question. Breast reduction surgery involves excision of “excess” breast tissue, adipose tissue, and skin. The procedure generally “lifts" and reduces the breasts at the same time. It is most frequently done to help with chronic neck, back, shoulder discomfort. When selecting plastic surgeons it is useful to look at their before and after pictures. When viewing these pictures patients should look for the overall improvement of... more

Breast Reduction Before and After photos

Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast tissue and reshapes the contour of the breasts so that they are smaller and perkier. I commonly use a minimal incision technique (Le Jour), eliminating the need for large scars while providing a pleasing breast contour and shape that is proportionate to the patient's body. During a consultation, the doctor should show you images reflecting the results of the procedure you’re considering, and seeing the photos can give you a sense of a... more

In breast reduction pictures, look for great shape, size and symmetry.

Hi. You don't have to be a specialist to judge breast reduction results. In the after pictures, do the breasts look a lot better than before? Are the scars faint?

Breast reduction before and after photos - expert advice

You look at the scars, the symmetry, the position of the nipple/areolar complex. These will give you an idea of the possible results you should expect. Pay special attention to the scars, they are permanent. From Miami

Breast reducrtion and photos

When looking at breast reduction photos, you would like to see relative symmetry and good shapes of the breasts. Another important point is to make sure that the staff and doctor take good care of you and are available to you.

Shape of the Breasts is most important

Hi there- I say it often... most plastic surgeons can perform a Breast Reduction or Breast Lift... Very few can reliably and reproducibly create breasts that are lovely, natural, round, and attractive... You need only spend a few minutes looking at photos to understand that all too often, breast lift or reduction outcomes are strange looking, flat, and square. Most women don't want breasts that are flat, square, and strange. You should be demanding of the outcome, and more

Breast Reduction Before and After Photos

Before and after photos will give you a general idea of what you might expect. However, all patients heal differently and photos can be "retouched". You should find a board-certified plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. You might also ask to speak with some former patients if you are still uneasy.

Pictures in a Gallery - REALLY looking at Before and After Pictures

You can see a lot by knowing how to look. While all of us look all the time not many observe. Most people look and react subjectively to what they see. The whole French Impressionist movement (named after Claude Monet's 1872 - Impression Soleil Levant (Impression - Sunrise)) became poplar for the reaction it created in the viewer. When viewing medical photography, most people react subjectively and personalize what they see (Such as: I look like her / my breasts are about the same as hers,... more

Breast reduction photo analysis

As I have said many times before, no 2 surgeons are alike and neither are their results. In breast reduction surgery, there is a need for the surgeon to have a true eye for symmetry and to have the sculptor's ability to shape and project the breast. The final scars are largely a matter of the patient's own healing biology but there are some technical differences between surgeons. You should see in an excellent result a degree of size reduction you like, a nice well shaped breast with... more
