Hi ! I have SLE with kidney involvement, I am at the moment on 10mg prednisolone, 150mg Imuran and 50mg ciclosporine. I had last year 6 doses of Endoxan and after that I was put on Ciclosporine that should go off in next few months. I am not nefrotic and would really like to have a breast lift as they went from 34D to 40G because of prednisolone. I am 5.7 and 65 kg and stable. All blood and urine results are stable. I was told by my dr that I should not consider a lift.

Breast lifting And Medical Problems?

Thank you for the question. If your medical doctor who knows your medical condition very well has stated that you should not consider elective surgery then you should respect his/her advice. No good/ethical plastic surgeon would agree to proceed when you're internist has suggested otherwise. Your safety should be your primary concern. Be careful.

Sometimes the risks outweigh the benefits!

Cosmetic surgery is one one those rare things that people do to feel better about themselves that can hurt or kill themselves. All surgery has risks! If you are sick and there are no other options, then those risks are palatable. However, your sagging breasts do not pose a health risk. And in view of your significant medical history and doctors advice, you should defer any surgery that is not necessary for health and well-being.
