Breast Implants at a Young Age?

Question viewed 500 times

I am pretty young, 17 years old, but I am seriously thinking about getting a breast augmentation in a future time. However, some people say that it is better to wait until I have kids because the breast size and muscles will change after breast feeding. Others say the breast implant will not be affected afterwards. I am also slim 5'3'' and around 108 lbs and my bra size is presently 34A. What is your opinion on breast implants at a young age?

Breast implants at 17

Do realize that your breasts will change as you go through life with weight loss/gain, pregnancy, etc. I hope this helps Dr Edwards... more

Wait until you are sure and mature enough to understand the ramifications

Any consideration for a cosmetic procedure is a balance between benefit and risk. If you have a severely abnormal breast with chest defromity, the benefits to a patient might be quite great at an early age. However, assuming you do not have such a congenital deformity, you will need to understand the short-term and long-term risks of having implants early in life. Few teenagers can truly comprehend the life-long commitment necessary to electively have breast augmentation. In fact, the FDA... more
