It all depends on what you started with, as well as how large you went with the implants and how long you have had them. The larger the implant, the longer you have had the implants the more the likelyhood that you would require a lift after explantation. Hope that clears things up.

Breast implants will expand the volume of the breast as well as the skin envelope.  In most cases, simple explantation of an implant will result in loose or excess skin. Discuss your aesthetic goals with a plastic surgeon prior to proceeding.

Breast do not always sag after implant removal. It depends on the amount of tissue remaining as well as the size implant that was placed. In general, the higher the percentage of implant volume to native volume the more likely the tissue will be loose and require a lift.  Dr Hedden
