I had memory gel 375 cc subgladular implants less thatn 3 weeks ago, and many women on this site they've been deathly ill after getting breast implants. What are the statistics of women getting deathly ill after breast augmentation? If it's so common, why aren't there more regulations to prevent this?

Silicone Implants and Connective Tissue Disease

While any and all surgical procedures have well described risks and benefits, to date, there is no conclusive evidence that breast augmentation has any correlation with the development of connective tissue disease or becoming "deathly ill". Not seen in common practice

I have been involved in plastic surgery for over 15 years and been an investigator for both implant companies for the FDA silicone adjunct studies and have not seen one patient who has become ill as a result of their implants and I have completed over 3,000 breast surgeries. You will always be able to find women who will state that their implants made them ill. All well trained board certified plastic surgeons would always protect the patient first.

It seems that regardless of the scientific facts, there are people who want to create emotional crisis for other patients. The data is very clear, there is no such thing a silicone poisoning. It was popular to believe that al sorts of auto immune diseases were cased by silicone implants during the crisis of the early 1990s.
