Will Breast Implants Make Fibromyalgia Symptoms Worse?

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome 6 years ago. My symptoms drastically got worse after a car accident. I am 36 years old and would like to know, if breast implants would make my symptoms worse. Also, what would be to best kind to get, saline or gel? Thank you.

Data does not support any causation

There is no data to suggest that there is any correlation between breast implants and fibromyalgia. However, women have complained of vague muslce cramping and aching following breast augmentation. These seem to be related more to the use of silicone than saline but there is no scientific studies to support any association

No known scientific proof of association

I can only give recommendations on what science has shown to date and it is my understanding that there is no known correlation between breast implants and connective tissue disorders or fibromyalgia. I assure you that you would be able to find a woman who will say that her symptoms improved after she removed her implants but I have at least 5 women in my practice with this diagnosis who did fine with augmentation with both saline and silicone implants and are very happy they did it.
