Will my Right Saline Implant Ever Drop into Place?

In February 2007 I had my first breast augmentation. I had 270 cc, saline implants, moderate profile. The right breast ended up "falling out" or "bottoming out." A different surgeon attempted to fix the problem by stiching my right breast almost up to my collar bone and having me do excercises after the surgery to encourage it to drop into place. This surgeon also filled the same in plants with 100 more ccs. After 6 months the right breast fell out again and was disfigured. Both breasts had capuslar contraction. A third surgeon removed the saline implants, removed all the scar tissue, and replaced the implants will 260 cc silicone implants. He did not attempt to fix the fall out problem with the right breast. He said it didn't think it was necessary. However, the right breast was still lower than the left. This same surgeon did a second surgery on me 5 weeks later. This time he loosend the pocket on the bottom left because my nipple on the left breast was off center (closest to my side), which allowed the implant to become fuller on the bottom and the nipple to become more centered. As for the right breast, he stiched up the pocket on the bottom and side to fix the fall out. It has been one week and now the right breast is higher than the left!! Will it drop? Should i try to encourage it to drop by wraps or massages? Or will this cause the stitches to break?

Let Your Surgeon Help you

After so many procedures and different surgeons, my best advice is to stay closely in touch with your surgeon.  You must have chosen him for good reason after your previous experience. Give yourself (and your surgeon) time for you to heal. It is not out of the question to do a minor revision or manipulation to get to the final result.

Breast implants will not drop.

Hi. What a horrible story. You have had much too much trouble with your breast implants. I don't know why. It does not sound like you will have a good result now. I can only offer a radical suggestion. Remove your implants, leave them out, and let the tissues heal for at least one year. Then you can have a revison breast augmentation starting fresh.

Multiple breast surgeries

It sounds like you have had a hard time with your implants. Whether or not it will fall or stay up, is something that you will have to keep an eye on. This is best followed by you and your surgeon.

Follow your plastic surgeons advice

You have had a lot of surgery for a simple breast augmentation. I would keep trust in your third plastic surgeon and see them frequently as you heal and follow their instructions closely. Take care. Dr Edwards

Only your surgeon will know

You have quite a complicated history with your implants. At the current time it sounds like things are as close to normal as possible. The surgeon that did the stitching and correction to the right pocket will know best how to work the implant. Actually, at this time it is not a bad idea that the implant is high because I would expect it to lower as the the repair relaxes and stretches from the weight of the implant. Ask your surgeon how you should proceed because the method and actual... more
