Are Lumps and Pain Normal After Breast Augmentation?

I had a breast augmentation 3 weeks ago. The insertion cut was undeer the breast and under the muscle. I am experiencing severe pain and lumps on my right breast from the bottom going up on the inner side of the breast. The pain is severe enough that it hurts to stand straight. Is this normal?

You may have Mondors Syndrome

Dear Julie N, Painful skin lumps on the breast after breast augmentation can be a sign of Mondor's Sydrome or Mondor's disease. Breast Implant pain

There are so many things that can be causing your symptoms. This can be a hematoma, Mondor's disease, palpability of the implant, infection, etc... to name a few. The best thing to do is see your doctor ASAP.

Go see your doctor

Julie N, If you are having unilateral (on side only) problems, then you really need to see your doctor to make sure everything is okay. After surgery, you should expect to have some discomfort, but not pain and not lumps.

Call your doctor and see him

You should return to your plastic surgeon and have him check you out and ask him your questions. We have no way of knowing what is going on with you. This is why you paid your plastic surgeon and why you should return for a follow up visit.

Lumps and pain are not normal 3 weeks after breast augmentation

To Julie N, Hi! I am not sure what's wrong, but you should see your surgeon right away. What you are describing as lumps could be a hematoma, an infection, muscle irregularity, or a palpable implant.
