I have a tummy tuck/ mommy makeover consultation with my mom's plastic surgeon tomorrow. My mom mentioned that she does nice belly buttons and called them "brazillian belly button" style. What does this mean? Anybody know?

A Belly Button by Any Other Name....

Hi! As previously mentioned, the Brazilian belly button is just a nice marketing touch (how about a "Bahama Mommy Makeover!) that helps to generate some interest. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what you call it as long as it looks good! The best surgeon's will alter technique to fit your unique anatomy. Best Regards, KC see video

Belly button techniques

Your own belly button probably determines what it will look like afterwards more than any technique.  I have heard of Rodeo Drive belly button, Beverly Hills belly button, and now Brazilian belly button. Not sure what any of these mean other than good marketing sound bites. Make sure you  look at before and afters concentrating on the belly button.

Brazilian Belly Button

Hi KTM1986, There is no official technique known as the Brazilian belly button.  This is just a name that a plastic surgeon gave to her own technique.  What's important is that you see a lot of before and after photos and you like the surgeon's results.  It's also important that your doctor is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has performed many abdominoplasties. Attractive belly buttons after tummy tuck.

Lots of surgeons are able to make the opening to your belly button very attractive, sometimes even more attractive than the original.  You will have to ask the surgeon to see before and after photos of the belly buttons to see what they are calling Nrazilian belly buttons! see video
